Wynwood: Art Basel/ Miami Art Week

Home to the largest concentration of street art in the US, Wynwood welcomed 350,000 visitors during Art Basel/Miami Art Week last year (in comparison to 77,000 that attended the actual Art Basel fair on Miami Beach)!

NEW Openings/Activations during Art Basel/Miami Art Week 2019:

• Lebron James is building the flagship of Unknwn, a clothing/street-wear/sneaker brand, in Wynwood and is set to open during Art Basel in Dec. It will occupy a 9,500-square-foot space at 261 NW 26th St.

• The grand opening of Museum of Graffiti, the first institution of its kind to present the history of the global graffiti art movement, will take place on Dec. 5 in Wynwood at 299 NW 25th St.

• Wynwood Business Improvement District transforms that area’s main thoroughfare, Second Avenue, into a pedestrian-only street to make the artwork/murals more accessible. Street closures will last throughout the weekend (12/6-12/8) and includes 20th Street to 29th Street along Northwest Second Avenue. CLICK HERE for photos of last year’s road closure.

Art Fairs/Exhibitions

• The Contemporary and Digital Art Fair (CADAF) (12/5-12/8) is the world’s ONLY digital art fair and will come to Miami (Wynwood) for the FIRST TIME during Art Basel/Miami Art Week. Partnering with the Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID), CADAF incorporates Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality and other digital mediums.

• World-famous Wynwood Walls celebrates its 10th anniversary during Art Basel from 11/25-12/8

• Satellite Miami Art Fair (12/4-12/8)- after three years in Miami Beach and Downtown last year, this fair comes to Wynwood for the first time!

• Pinta Miami at Mana Wynwood (12/3-12/8)- 60 galleries on display from Latin America, U.S. and Europe
