Jason Newsted ‘Rocks the Roof’ at the Lighthouse ArtCenter

Back by popular demand, Jason and Nicole Newsted bring their affinity for the arts to the Lighthouse ArtCenter through various art forms: painting, drawing, glassworks and music. The couple’s Peace + Love 2020 Exhibition opens fittingly on Valentine’s Day with an opening reception from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery. In conjunction with the exhibit, Jason Newsted will perform two benefit concerts. The first concert by Jason Newsted and the Chophouse Band takes place on Saturday, Feb. 15 and a second acoustic performance by Jason Newsted and friends is on Saturday, Feb. 29. Both concerts take place at the Gallery from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the ‘Raising the Roof’ Capital Campaign to add a much needed second floor and five additional classrooms to the gallery building. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at https://www.lighthousearts.org/peace-and-love-2020

“Once again Jason and Nicole are front and center to support our efforts to literally raise the roof of our gallery building. The additional space will allow more classrooms for new programs such as art therapy for veterans.” said Nancy Politsch, CEO of the Lighthouse ArtCenter.  “We are so thankful and excited and invite the community to experience the Newsted’s Peace + Love 2020 exhibition and unforgettable concerts.”

“Nicole and I look forward to sharing our most recent works with our neighborhood art community, friends, and supporters in our second annual dual exhibit at the Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery. Please join us in this special celebration of art and music in your own backyard,” said Newsted.

Peace + Love 2020 will exhibit the talented Nicole Newsted’s brightly colored and whimsical paintings, filling three of the galleries with her brilliant work. Legendary rock musician and multi-media artist Jason Newsted will show large and small-scale works in the main gallery, inspired by years spent on the road with Metallica. The Chophouse Band, led by Newsted on guitar and lead vocal, will perform original and classic Americana selections. In this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition, guests will enjoy Newsted’s adventurous musical stylings surrounded by the couple’s art.
