First Annual Art Throwdown & Monster Drawing Rally

Armory Center for the Arts – Pasadena, CA

 Watch Artists Throwdown at the
First Annual Art Throwdown & Monster Drawing Rally

Live at the Arts Warehouse

June 7, 2019

Think of it as Iron Chef but for artists…

The Monster Drawing Rally is part performance, part art-walk, part art sale, and is sure to be one of Delray Beach’s liveliest fun-raising events. During the Monster Drawing Rally, artists create artworks from start-to-finish in front of a live audience. Artwork can be purchased for $30 as soon as they are finished. If more than one person wants the same piece of art they will rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to buy it.

The night caps off with the Arts Throwdown will have artists go head to head in a 90 minute challenge.  They’ll each be provided the same art supplies plus have access to a table of unusual items to use for their 90 minute masterpiece.

“We’ve already had artists from Miami, Orlando and Tampa sign up,” says Jill Brown, Executive Director of the Arts Warehouse.  “We’re looking for some local talent to compete.” Contact the Arts Warehouse to see if Monster Drawing space is still available or if submissions are still being accepted for Throwdown competitors.

The winning artist will receive their own show at the Arts Warehouse at a future date.

Guests will be able to watch creative talent at work in a party atmosphere.  Pizza Paradise will create woodfired masterpiece pizzas on site. Part of their proceeds will be donated to support artists’ services.  Drinks are available for purchase and a DJ will be playing all night. The action takes place in the Arts Warehouse’s 3000 sq. ft. white room. A giant two story high warehouse space that is now available for rentals.

Tickets for the event are $5 and are on sale now on Eventbrite.
